Microsoft Unveils It's own Stimulus PackageFebruary 23, 2009 A lot of people, including the maintainers of this site, view Microsoft Corporation as something akin to the Evil Empire, but that's no reason not of give credit where credit is due. Maybe this time they deserve a little. In response to the current economic crisis, Microsoft has come out with a stimulus plan of it's own. Partnering with state and local governments, their goal is to help a lot of people use their computers to land employment in ways other than updating their resumes. The new online initiative, Elevate America, is set to equip close to 2 million people (over the next three years) with the skills needed to succeed in the field of technology. Admittedly this may be just more Microsoft hype (consider that they just laid off 1,400 technology workers), but maybe not. If you're out of work and looking at options, you might want to check it out. |

As usual, Jefferson got it right...January 1, 2009 "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." We sincerely hope that 2009 will be remembered as the year when everyone finally got it that the happiness and well-being of humans is more important than the well-being of corporations, and that corporate manipulation of human lives for profit is not a manifestation of freedom but a form of evil. If that happens, rebuilding our shattered economy will probably take care of itself. Let's all strive to make it so. Happy New Year from your friends at Trinidadcolorado.net! |
