FAQ's:
What is included with grooming service?
A full grooming treatment begins with a toenail trim. Before the bath, the pets are evaluated for tangles, skin conditions and parasites. Next, they get a soothing bath with our water massage bathing system. For the ultimate plush finish. our guests receive a hand blow-dry. Finally, the pets hair is clipped and scissored into the style selected by the owner. At every visit the ears are checked for cleanliness and cleaned if needed. Tasteful bows or bandannas are applied to the pet for a finishing touch!
The Grateful Dog uses the finest professional grooming products available. We spare no expense in our continuing search for the most beautiful shampoos, conditioners, color enhancers, finishing sprays and colognes. We have a selection of our finds available for resale, so you can experience them at home.
How much does grooming cost?
The base price for full grooming treatments on small dogs starts at $38.00. Designer scissor trims cost an additional $5.00 to $10.00. Call for a specific price quote.
Why "THE GRATEFUL DOG"?
Of course, you and your pet will both feel terrific after you visit our salon, making you grateful you chose our service. But that's not the reason. We are fans of The Grateful Dead, and in our college days a friend of ours had a business plan for her healthy pet center "The Grateful Dog". Today, our friend is a realtor. We adopted the name.
Do you have pets?
Yes. We have two domestic shorthair cats, Ripple and Tricksy. Our dogs are: a ten year old Daschund named "Carla", a seven year old Great Dane mix we call "The Mule", an adopted Old English Sheepdog who goes by "Blue" Then there is "Maui" a two year old English Cocker and finally "JuneBug" a Bichon Frise who is only one year old.
Do you live in the house?
Yes. This is my dream home. I bought it when I was eight months pregnant with our first beautiful son, thinking he would love to grow up here. It also makes a perfect business location.
