The Blackhawk POA was formed as a Colorado non-profit corporation in March of 1996 by the Blackhawk Group, LLC, developers of Blackhawk Ranch.

The POA was officially turned over to Blackhawk property owners in July, 1999.

The Santa Fe Trail Ranch (SFTR) web site is dedicated to providing past, present, and future documentation and information to both resident and non-resident owners. The beautiful Santa Fe Trail Ranch is nestled in the immediate northwest quadrant of the Raton Pass in southern Colorado. It is commonly called the southeastern gateway to the Rockies, and is bordered on the east by Fisher's Peak and the Raton Mesa. To the north are the Towering Huajatolla, more commonly known as the Spanish Peaks. To the west is the majestic Sangre de Cristo mountain range. The small town of Trinidad lies at the northern border of the SFTR, and Raton, NM, is located just past the southern border of the SFTR. The Vermejo Park Ranch and the Crazy French Ranch are our nearest neighbors to the immediate west and east, respectively.
